Complete Lineup and Specs to be posted soon!
With 9 new models hitting the streets, 07 will be an exciting year for RANS. Our efforts in creating a whole new form of comfort bikes with a performance orientation have really paid off for everyone, and we are happy to be busy, and recognized for our efforts. Internet buzz is strong, check it out at www.crankforward.com. You would think recumbents might take a back seat. Not happening, among the 9 new models 5 of them are recumbent, and 4 of these have a distinct high performance slant. This is the year for titanium and aluminum bikes. RANS is producing titanium and aluminum bikes at the Hays plant, and the offerings have some very nice custom flavors and color choices within model lineups.
A Bounty of Bents
RANS introduces 5 new bents:  4 high performance long wheelbase, and 1 entry into the higher capacity bikes, the Formula HD, rated for 325 pounds. Kicking it off as our new speed flagship is the V3 in titanium and aluminum for high BB LWB, and the Stratus XP in titanium and aluminum for the lower BB LWB rider. This awesome five-some covers a wider range of desires from speed demons to super touring or commuting machines.
V3 TI (new model)
It has been hard to contain the excitement the V3 in either titanium or alloy creates. The ride is superb and the speed exhilarating! We predict this will be a much copied frame design as it solves many of the problems and trade offs* performance recumbents encounter. Being an experienced maker of high-racers, we are confident this configuration will surpass the high racer. This is the new steed for speed! The cockpit is compact with the handlebars within easy reach. The B-37 with a mid riser is stock, and we feel most accommodating, but no cost options for the 3-way and other bars are available. Weighing in at a mere 21.5 lbs the V3 TI will fly up hills, jump out of the blocks and hold very high cruise speeds. Seat to BB height is not as extreme. The seat height is nice and low too and allows the shorter rider to fit well, a very compatible frame for any level of rider.
·         No cost option on handlebar choices
·         Three sizes planned
·         Clear coat, no need to polish and prevents scratch damage to the metal
·         Comes in Ti - Amber
·         M-5 seat, Z-seat, or Formula seat, all no cost options
·         New clamp type sprint braces will be stock
MSRP $5300.00
* Trade offs in seat position and BB heights due to larger wheels, fitting short people, energy sucking idlers, lack of torsion and longitudinal stiffness.

V3 AL (new model)
In 7005 aluminum alloy the V3 becomes more affordable and remains a great bike, the ride feel is comparable to the titanium and weighs only 1 lb more.  We see the V3AL a very popular choice.
·         No cost option on handlebars
·         Three sizes planned
·         M-5 seat, Z-seat, or Formula seat, a no cost option
·         New clamp type sprint braces will be stock
·         Comes in Gloss Black
MSRP $3500.00

STRATUS XP TI (new model)

The Stratus XP in titanium is the ultimate in long wheelbase low bottom bracket recumbent; equipped with top end components for a bike weight of 22.6 lbs making this a record-making machine. We see this as a serious touring machine because of the ride quality of titanium, and very well suited for performance riders.  The bike features more of a road orientation, but has provisions for fenders and racks, appointments that serious touring specialist may require. There will be several combinations possible for 26”, 650, 700 wheels (rear only), and canti brakes. The combination of a 650 front and 700 rear will no doubt be explored!
·         Threadless Fork
·         Several combinations for 26”, 650, 700 (rear only), wheels, and road and canti brakes
·         Z-seat, or Formula RANS mesh seat, no cost option
·         Three way chopper bars or T-bars also a no cost option
·         Comes in Ti – Amber
MSRP $5500.00

STRATUS XP/AL (new model)
The Stratus XP AL is made in Hays by our highly skilled staff from 7005 alloy. Very well equipped and bent on speed, this bike will amaze. Weighing in at 26 down to 23 depending on wheel and brake options, the ride just gets better. The AL XP is equipped nearly identical to the ti versions and represents a great value. It is also one of the lightest high performance, long wheelbase bents out there. The AL XP comes with frame appointments for disc brakes, canti’s and even a 700-brake bridge; imagine the wonderful but strange combination of 700x650 that is possible on the AL XP.  We see this as a very versatile bike, well-suited performance rides, commuting and touring. The only real limitation is the rider weight is reduced to 200 pounds over the standard Stratus XP in cro-moly.
·         Threadless Fork or threaded with canti and disc mounts
·         Several combinations for 26”, 650, 700 (rear only), wheels, and disc, road ,and canti brakes
·         Z-seat, or Formula RANS mesh seat, no cost option
·         Three way chopper bars or T-bars also a no cost option
·         Comes in Gloss Black
MSRP $3500.00

STRATUS XP
This bike has single handedly turned up the volume in the LWB market. For ‘07 we are adding a 700 brake bridge that will serve also as a fender mount. The spec stays the same, why mess with a great thing! But now in 4 sizes!
·         Now in 4 sizes
·         Brake bridge for 700 rear wheel road brake
·         No-cost bar options
·         Disc or canti brake options
·         Wheel upgrade option
·         Tire choice options
·         Comes in Corvette Blue
MSRP $1995.00 (SM & XXL $2075.00)

STRATUS LE

What a success the Stratus LE has been! For '07 we are simply reloading and hitting it hard. The bike sports a new paint color in subdued but plush looking silver. Both share identical frames, seat, and fork, and vary only in spec level.  MSRP $1295

STRATUS CLASSIC
The classic Stratus is the original long wheelbase legend. With the re-spec it continues in the form of the Stratus LE at a friendlier price…but the higher spec 2006 Stratus will also be available for much of 2007 depending on supplies at an MSRP of $1700

FORMULA 26

Back for ‘07 after a great response, the Formula 26 is reloaded and ready. With a frame set up for disc or canti, and wheel clearance for tire widths from 1” to 2”, a lot is possible with the Formula. Back roads, to highways, the Formula can manage to be a secure efficient mount with impressive speed and comfort.

FORUMLA HD (new model)
This venerable design is now offered in a version for payloads up to 325 pounds. The market for a bike with this capacity is expected to be growing and the HD will set the lead and benchmark for high capacity recumbent bikes.  The HD is well equipped for the task. Starting with the much overbuilt V2 Formula frame, to the oversized disc brakes the Formula HD is well suited for the mission. The standard Formula 26 is available with canti-brakes, lighter wheels, and features below.
·         203 Disc Brakes
·         Retro Sprint braces
·         Kevlar tires
·         Tandem rated wheels
·         Seat memory loc and stop
·          3-way chopper bars standard
·         325 total payload
MSRP $1895

FORMULA LE 20X26
Although this bike will not appear in the '07 catalog we will list it on the 2006 products page (see below), and offer it at the 06’s price. The 20 x 26 combination offers a great combination and good handling bike at a very nice price! MSRP $
